Gulf Montessori was appointed by Dubai Women Establishment (DWE) as a consultant for the National Child Care Project.

The Project aimed to improve the quality of early care settings in the United Arab Emirates and promote the establishment of child care centres in the workplace.

DWE was supported in this initiative by the Executive Council of the Government of Dubai, to achieve two of the main objectives of the UAE Federal Strategy, unveiled by H.E. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai:

    * To improve the quality and standards of education, at all levels in the public and private sector, to meet society’s expectations.

   * To encourage women's contribution to development through the creation of a positive work environment that supports working mothers through the availability of childcare in the workplace, to have their children close by in a safe and nurturing environment.

Gulf Montessori's consultancy services included the preparation of the National Child Care Standards, and the provision of technical and academic support for Government entities wanting to set-up child care centres in their workplaces.

The National Child Care Standards define the minimum acceptable qualitative and quantitative requirements for the setting and the services that should be provided by all types of child care settings, in order to provide a safe and healthy environment that fosters children's physical, intellectual, psychological, social and emotional development.
